A number of sex offenders have been arrested or convicted this year. Last spring, a British military police officer spent 20 weeks in jail for filming unsuspecting teenage girls and children with a cell phone at a leisure center in Southampton.

More locally, an Indian man working as a ride operator at Williamsburg, Va.’s Water Country USA was also recently sentenced. Sandeep Deepak Agarwel will serve two years, in part for fondling a child under 13 years old. Additionally, Robert Slye was arrested and is currently awaiting charges for photographing boys at a New Hampshire waterpark as well as creating Facebook accounts to obtain additional photos.

In Orlando, Fla., a recent surge in waterpark sex crimes, including multiple molestations at SeaWorld’s Aquatica and the sexual battery of a 14-year-old girl at Wet ’n Wild has prompted both of those parks to review their policies.
