Tourists are suing First Choice Holidays and Flights after hundreds allegedly came down with gastrointestinal illnesses including cryptosporidium and salmonella.

One British group of claimants who stayed at the Sarigerme Holiday Village in Dalaman Turkey is seeking £300,000 (about $488,000) before London’s High Court.

The resort has already paid more than £100,000 (about $163,000) to holiday-goers who became ill there before 2007.

Another group of more than 100 British tourists have launched a similar case alleging they became severely ill after visiting the Holiday Village Red Sea Resort in Egypt, through First Choice.
