Chuck Neuman

From the time he started his first business, a pool construction company, in 1973, Chuck Neuman has never been afraid to dig into a new project. Today he’s the founding president of Water Technology in Beaver Dam, Wis., and one of a number of individuals actively involved in crafting the Model Aquatic Health Code.
Neuman became involved with the MAHC early on through his relationship with officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He currently shares his aquatics expertise as a member of the MAHC Steering Committee.
“I think [the MAHC] will change things for the good,” Neuman says.
Ultimately, he believes that means creating a uniform platform that everyone can use, which will increase the effectiveness of public health efforts to ensure safe, healthy pool environments.
You might say Neuman knows a thing or two about changing things for the good. When he and Doug Whiteaker started Water Technology around 1983, their goal was to fill a need for better, smarter pool design.
Now, nearly 30 years later, the firm is recognized internationally and Neuman is proud to be planning to eventually leave the reins to his son, Nick, who’s been with the company more than four years now.
“I think it’s very satisfying to know that you got something going and to see a way forward for the company,” Neuman says.
