Dan Denhert

Dan Dehnert is the chief mechanical and production engineer for Iconica, based in Madison Wis. Dehnert has more than 30 years of experience doing MPE and design, and more than 15 years experience designing mechanical and electrical systems for indoor waterparks.

Rick English

Rick English has more than 30 years' experience in pool construction. English Pool Consulting is based in San Diego, and his areas of expertise include pool construction defects, solar heating and pool service. English holds engineering degrees from Rutgers University and the University of Arizona. He has significant experience as a lecturer at the University of Arizona, the University of San Diego and San Diego State University.

Franceen Gonzales

Franceen Gonzales is vice president of risk management at Great Wolf Resorts, based in Madison, Wis. Her focus is building the leadership team, coordinating design for new waterparks and directing operations protocols and risk management programs. Gonzales has been in the amusement, waterpark and hospitality industries the past 23 years. She is a past chairwoman of the World Waterpark Association’s Board of Directors.

Scot Hunsaker

Scot Hunsaker is president of Counsilman-Hunsaker in St. Louis, Mo. Hunsaker leads a national/international aquatic design firm. A graduate of Indiana University School of Business, he was named to the 2009 Aquatics International Power 25 and currently is a member of the NSPF Board of Directors and the National Sanitation Foundation’s Recreational Water Facilities Joint Committee.

Mick Nelson

Mick Nelson is the facilities development director at USA Swimming. He and wife Sue formed their own swim club in Danville, Ill., in 1972. Over the next 30 years in Danville, they formed Nelson’s Swim Supply, NSS Inc., WaterWay Therapy Inc. and Poolside Health & Wellness Center. They have presented and spoken at more than 50 national aquatic conventions and, since joining USA Swimming, have helped develop 65+ facilities.

Alison Osinski

Alison Osinski, Ph.D., currently is the principal/owner of Aquatic Consulting Services in San Diego, specializing in aquatic risk management, and aquatics facility design, management and operation. She has written for more than 135 publications and speaks regularly at industry conferences. Osinski has been featured multiple times in the Aquatics International Power 25.

Bill Peck

Bill Peck is a licensed general contractor with 25 years of experience in commercial pool maintenance and repair. His business, William Peck Pool Services, is based in the San Diego area. Ever the experimenter, and not wanting to get those emergency calls, he developed various ways of solving, preventing and predicting problems. (He has been successful enough that he could post his phone number where pool users could see it and not get complaint calls!)

Kent Williams

Kent Williams has taught the Certified Pool Operators course for 22 years; more recently, he wrote NRPA’s Aquatic Facility Operator textbook and its training program, teaching the AFO course from Sacramento to Hong Kong. Williams is founder and executive director of the Professional Pool Operators of America, and writes and publishes the popular Pumproom Press for members. The PPOA Website features many of his writings.

Rich Young

Rich Young has more than 30 years’ experience with municipal, public and commercial pools and waterparks. He has operated and maintained many public and commercial swimming pools as well as several waterparks. Besides being an AFO instructor for the National Recreation and Park Association and technical adviser/board member at the Professional Pool Operators of America, Young has been published numerous times in industry journals.
