Following the success of its three previous parks in the greater Dallas area, the Hawaiian Falls group embarked on establishing its largest and most elaborately themed park. Prominently located on 14 acres, the $10 million waterpark opened in May 2008, and is a joint venture between Hawaiian Falls, the city of Mansfield, Texas, and the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corp. The park is owned by the city and operated by Hawaiian Falls for a 40-year term. With significant grading and servicing challenges, the site demanded a skillfully refined master plan to satisfy the various concerns and issues. Whitewater worked closely with the Hawaiian Falls team and the civil engineer to meet these demands.
Designed to entertain 150,000 guests annually, the park conveys the “spirit of Hawaii” with tikis, thatch architecture, surfboards, palms and, of course, Hawaiian music. A great place for groups and special events, Hawaiian Falls offers colorful, private rental cabanas; corporate and group picnic areas; and birthday party zones. Weekly live concerts are scheduled as well as “drive-in” movies to be enjoyed at “Waikiki Beach,” the 18,000-square-foot wave pool.
During the hot Texas days, guests can splash about and cool their feet as they meander across the park enjoying the shallow stream-like water walkway. The wide expansive wave pool beach includes numerous thatched shade huts for comfort and relaxation. On the 850-foot-long “Kona Kooler” river, guests can take a leisurely tube ride around the park, complete with an adventure river section. Thirteen body, mat and inner tube waterslides appropriately named “Honolulu Lulu,” “The Pineapple Express,” “The Maui Wowie” and “The Blowhole Bowl” offer plenty of thrills and excitement.
Designed for children and their parents, Kieki Cove houses an interactive children’s multi-level play structure, complete with sprays, slides, water jets, climbing nets and a giant tipping tiki head bucket. Also for younger children, “The Coconut Sprayground” offers an interactive spray deck with an array of jets, sprays and elements.
Hawaiian Falls Waterparks are planned, designed and built to bring families together in a safe, entertaining and relaxing park environment. Hawaiian Falls Mansfield transports guests to the “Islands” where the surfs up and smiles and laughter are found throughout.
