Thanks to a last-minute settlement in a 2007 lawsuit between the hall and the City of Winnipeg, Canada, the Aquatic Hall of Fame and Museum of Canada is now back on display at the Pan Am Pool.
According to the Winnipeg Free Press, the city will pay the Aquatic Hall of Fame and Museum of Canada a cash settlement of $250,000, as well as the $600,000 cost to install the hall’s cabinets. The fine also covers the fee to link the museum's website to that of the city's. The settlement indicates exclusive use of the Pan Am Pool gallery for the hall exhibits.
The Aquatic Hall of Fame and Museum opened its doors inside the Pan Am Pool in 1967. The collection included a variety of memorabilia from swimming medals and trunks to paintings by former athletes.
