To celebrate spring and jump-start the summer swim season, a number of waterparks and aquatics facilities recently opened the doors for Easter celebrations including underwater egg hunts and other festivities.

Kids from the Hanover, Pa., and Mecklenburg, N.C. areas went diving for Easter Eggs at underwater Easter Egg hunts at the Hanover YMCA and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s Ray’s Splash Planet indoor waterpark. The egg hunt was a first-time event in Hanover. According to local reports it was developed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle and proceeds went to the YMCA’s “Kid’s Come First” campaign to send underprivileged youngsters to YMCA programs and summer camps. Underwater egg hunts were also held at the Corpus Christi Natatorium in Texas, and the William Shore Memorial Pool in Port Angeles, Wa.

At Morey’s Mariner’s Landing Pier in Wildwood, N.J., the Easter Bunny showed up Easter Sunday, handing out prize-filled eggs and posing for photos. The festivities were part of Morey’s 40th Anniversary season celebration.
