Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is preparing to start construction on what is to be North America’s second naturally filtered swimming pool, according to local news source The Edmonton Journal. Known as the Borden Natural Swimming Experience, the project has us asking: Are natural systems the way of the future? Edmonton’s new pool will replace an existing 25-meter pool that opened in 1925, at a cost of more than $14.5 million.
