North Minneapolis residents eager to take a dip in the new naturally filtrated pool underway in Webber Park are going to have to wait another year.

A brutal winter and an exceptionally soggy spring has delayed construction on the project, which was expected to open this summer, according to NBC affiliate KARE 11.

The aquatics industry has been keeping a close eye on the $4 million project which will use a biological, plant-based filtration system instead of sanitizing chemicals found in conventional pools.

It will be the first public pool of its kind.
