A mother asked to stop breastfeeding her baby in a leisure centre swimming pool has won an out-of-court settlement after launching a legal claim.

Sophie Howes was at the Stour Centre in Ashford, UK last fall, when an employee asked her to stop feeding her eight-month-old baby Connie in the pool. Howes launched the claim against the facility, believing that the request breached the Equality Act 2010, which protects breastfeeding mothers.
