Dubai soon will be home to a new kind of theme park.
Called the Pearl of Dubai, the attraction will be set on five acres below in the waters adjacent to The World Islands development.
The look of the park is being planned by the Los Angeles-based underwater tourism design company Reef Worlds to appear like an ancient lost city, according to the Daily Mail.
Capitalizing on the $3 billion dive and snorkel market, developers are hoping the project will help make Dubai a diving destination.
The team is also exploring additional opportunities in other locations, and with the possibility of this form of attraction expanding into other areas of the world, understanding how to rescue a diver is imperative. The 2014 Aquatics International University explores this very topic.
