Jaring Timmerman was a man on a mission. And he succeeded.

The 104-year-old Winnipeg, Canada, resident, who celebrates his birthday in February, has solidified his place in history by setting two new world records January 24, according to CTV News.

Timmerman, who began his swimming career late when most are nearing or already in retirement (at age 79), has earned more than 160 medals in the sport.
