MANAGER AQUATIC FACILITIES AND SAFETY OFFICER
Penn State is seeking applicants for the position of Manager, Aquatic Facilities and Safety Officer. Responsible for the general administration and operation of all University aquatic facilities. Prepare, monitor and analyze the annual operating budget. Develop revenue sources through instructional programs. Direct the maintenance of equipment and facilities. Recommend renovations and capital improvements. Perform periodic safety inspections. Supervise, train and mentor assigned staff involved with operation and maintenance of aquatic facilities. Recruit and mentor aquatic interns from other universities. Oversee approximately 150 student lifeguard employees. Act as safety officer for Intercollegiate Athletics. Develop new programs and concepts for facilities' usage. Coordinate the scheduling and operation of facilities for physical education classes, intercollegiate sporting events, club sports activities, Penn State Aquatics, Sports Camps usage and outside events. Establish and maintain policies, rules and regulations for use of aquatic facilities. Edit publications.
Requires Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent, plus three years of work-related experience. American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer Certification and Certified Pool Operator License required; Pesticide Applicator License required within 60 days of hire.
