A Settlement has been reached in the first-known lawsuit involving drain entrapment and citing the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.

The case involved the death of Bill Stock, a paraplegic, who became entrapped on a suction grate in a pool at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa in Honolulu.

The Stock family sued the resort along with several other parties and the case was settled for an undisclosed amount.
