Another high-profile swim coach is under investigation for sexual misconduct. USA Swimming is investigating allegations that Daniel Ad’m Dusenbury had a sexual relationship with an underage female, now 22, who he trained as coach of the Mission Viejo Nadadores, a highly respected Orange County, Calif., swim club.
Dusenbury, 34, appears to have been highly regarded by peers for his coaching and use of technology in instruction.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the young woman denied the relationship when questioned, but USA Swimming has banned other coaches without crimminal charges.
Club members are divided over the allegations and there are questions as to whether senior staff allowed Dusenbury to continue coaching even after they received evidence of his inappropriate relationship. Evidence reportedly now includes a DVD with photos of a diary chronicling the relationship.
