Thanks to detailed theming, it’s always winter at Disney’s Blizzard Beach waterpark. Set on the slopes of fictional Mt. Gushmore, it’s the newest of the two Walt Disney World Resort waterparks.
Blizzard Beach is styled like a classic mountain ski resort, complete with chair lift. Rides include the Runoff Rapids tube slide, Slush Gusher Tube Slide and Summit Plummet body slide — reportedly the tallest, fastest ride of its kind, on which riders reach speeds up to 55 miles per hour.
Other signature attractions are the Teamboat Springs family raft ride and the Downhill Double Dipper racing water slides. The sandy beach area below Mt. Gushmore offers a large wave pool, a lazy river, two snack bars and separate activity pools for tweens and toddlers.
