Waterpark description: Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio, features a 78,000-square-foot North Woods-themed indoor waterpark with 12 water slides and several pools. There’s a water coaster, lazy river, four tube slides, two body slides, a four-person raft ride and four kiddie slides.
The pools include a gigantic wave pool, leisure pool and zero-depth-entry children’s activity pool, plus separate family and adult whirlpools. Rounding out the attractions is Fort Mackenzie, a four-story, interactive treehouse water fort with a nearly 1,000-gallon dump bucket.
The “it” factor: This all-suite resort sports 11 suite configurations — including the Queen, Family Fireplace, Wolf Den, KidKamp, KidCabin and Royal Bear options — to comfortably accommodate families of varying sizes. The property features two themed restaurants and celebrates the “family table.”
A comprehensive package of amenities includes the 80,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, spa, Scooops kid spa, arcade and children’s craft and activity room. A highlight of the North Woods theming is the signature Great Wolf Resorts animated clock tower in the lobby.
