NRH2O Family Water Park was established in 1995 as the first municipally owned waterpark in Texas. Now in its 16th year of operation, the facility has become a popular attraction in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and is known for its safe, friendly, clean environment and reasonable prices. According to “legend,” the park came to life when two rivals tried to find the perfect formula for family fun. Operators say the facility features the world’s largest uphill water coaster and the area’s largest interactive water playground. This 17-acre waterpark includes 22 water slides, a children’s area, wave pool, endless river — and a “tween” area, featuring a lagoon-style pool, sand volleyball court and a tech deck. NRH2O offers guests lots of freebies: tubes, life jackets and parking; coolers are welcome. Special events include Friday Night Dive-In Movies, fireworks and an iPod-an-hour giveaway.
