Meet the Legends of Aqua Waterpark in Antalya, Turkey. The new facility, part of the Land of Legends Theme Park and resort, is stocked with an array of eye-catching attractions supplied by Polin Waterparks.

The waterpark is part of a $1 billion facility that opened its first phase in July with the premier of the park's center: the wave pool. Thanks to a partnership with American Wave Machine, The Land of Legends is home to the region's first SurfStream, a standing wave-surfing machine that , allows riders to use real surfboards. It also is the largest in the world with a double surf-system configuration, according to a press release. Six surfers and 12 bodyboarders can use the attraction at the same time.

Designed with a Roman Empire/Greek Poseidon theme, the resort sits between the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Stretching over a vast 6,878,139 square feet, Land of Legends includes a shopping boulevard; a five-star hotel; a wildlife park; and a viewing terrace that reaches 364 feet in height. But the star of the show -- coming in at 3,013,895 square feet and featuring 72 water slides -- is the waterpark.

"It's truly our 'project of the year,'" said Kubilay Alpdogan, director of sales and design for Polin Waterparks. "No other waterpark has been built to rival Land of Legends - at least not in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region of the world. It was a huge project - and one of which we are immensely proud. It's truly a new opportunity for families to enjoy time together."
