In what may be a sign that the economy is improving, two U.S. waterpark acquisitions were finalized last month.
In Porter In., Seven Peaks has acquired Splash Down Dunes Water Park, which is set to be renamed Seven Peaks Waterpark Porter. It is set to reopen in 2013. The deal makes this the fourth waterpark, for the Provo, Utah-based amusement venue operator.
Similarly, Rapids Water Park is now under the ownership of CNL Lifestyle Properties, Inc., a real estate investment trust.
The 30-acre West Palm Beach, Fla., family waterpark features 35 water slides and thrill rides, a 25,000-square-foot wave pool, multiple kids play areas and a lazy river.
