Adventure Oasis lifeguards in Independence, Mo. crushed July’s AI #LifeguardChallenge, edging out runner-up Appalachian State University in the timed challenge. Participants had 15 seconds to perform a two-person extraction. Our judges noted that both Adventure Oasis and ASU performed text-book executions of the drill. But Adventure Oasis' speedy rescue beat the buzzer by a full five seconds.

Our judges reviewed all five submissions multiple times to determine our July winner. All facilities took the challenge seriously and demonstrated some spot-on techniques. But some technical mistakes cost some challengers in the long run. View all videos here.
