And the winner for June's AI #LifeguardChallenge is.... The Bay Water Park in Kansas City, Mo. What set The Bay Water Park apart was that guards not only performed the adult passive rescue, but also the child passive rescue. Training and using children as "victims" for drills isn't common, but allows specialized practice. Our judges reviewed the video multiple times to pay attention to rescuer safety, correct tube placement with the victim and appropriate height above the victim for giving breaths. We also noted that technique for both the child and adult versions of the drill was consistent and clean.

Our judges reviewed the four submissions many times to determine our June winner. All facilities took the challenge seriously and participated with good technique. It was evident that they practiced the drill many times, presenting us with a very polished version. View all the videos here.
