Texas now leads the nation with the most drowning of any state.
According to a report by News Radio 1200 WOAI, figures released by the Pool Safely project of the Consumer Product Safety Commission indicate that child drownings have increased a whopping 38 percent over 2014.
"33 children under the age of 15 drowned in backyard and institutional pools and spas in Texas through October of this year, compared with 24 this time last year," the news agency says.
Although experts believe the most effective way to reduce the number of drownings is to ensure all children learn to swim, some believe there are other roads to safety.
