Indoor waterpark description The Williamsburg Great Wolf Lodge features a 67,000-square-foot, North Woods-themed indoor waterpark with nine water slides, including the Howlin’ Tornado tube ride designed for thrills; two body slides; and a toboggan water ride. There’s also a wave pool, leisure pool and lazy river.

Designed especially for the youngest guests are three kiddie slides and Fort Mackenzie, the four-story treehouse water fort with a nearly 1,000-gallon tipping bucket. The newest attraction is a stationary wave machine.

The “it” factor: More than 100 million visitors have come to see Virginia’s colonial history and other attractions since 1932, according to the nonprofit Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Consequently, there are lots of lodging options in the Williamsburg area.

The North-Woods themed Great Wolf Lodge sets itself apart by providing a comprehensive package of destination lodging amenities, including the indoor waterpark, two themed restaurants, a kids camp, spa, 100-game arcade, 18-hole minigolf course and 17,000 square feet of meeting space. The ability to allow business travelers to bring their families along and extend a trip into a minivacation is an attractive option many other types of hotels and event spaces in the area don’t offer.
