Waterpark description: Opened in 2008, Split Rock Resort’s rain forest-themed H20ooohh Indoor Waterpark offers 11 rides, including the Hurricane Cove wave pool and Komodo Dragon, which operators say is Pennsylvania’s first indoor Flowrider stationary wave machine.
The “it” factor: Providing numerous
indoor and outdoor amenities that to appeal children and adults,
Split Rock is the epitome of a four-season resort. The property
includes 77,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, 27 holes
of championship golf, a movie theater, miniature golf course, two
indoor pools and one outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis
courts, an arcade, an eight-lane bowling alley, indoor and outdoor
basketball courts, sand volleyball, a softball field, shuffleboard
court, and a swimming lagoon with a beach. A year-round social
director keeps it all running.
The resort’s newest signature amenity, H20ooohh Waterpark,
was designed with comfort and safety in mind. Air is exchanged
eight times per hour, and more than 800 tropical plants help
oxygenate the air naturally. Also, massive skylights let in natural
light and solar heat.
