As the tenor of the national conversation takes a turn for the contentious, it seems waterparks and aquatics facilities have recently made headlines as the sites for race-based confrontation. In this case, approximately 40 people from two families -- one white, one black -- erupted into a brawl at Nashville's Wave Country waterpark after two teens from the African-American family accused a man from the white family of using a racial epithet.

The man accused of saying racist things denies it, and the families don’t agree on what happened. However, both blame the waterpark at least in part for the chaos. They told the local media that they plan to sue, claiming the waterpark did not have enough staff on hand.
