Six Flags Bucket Blasters
Six Flags Great Escape is giving its waterpark a facelift.
The theme-park chain announced recently that Splashwater Kingdom at Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, New York will undergo a rebrand and an expansion.
Splashwater Kingdom will be renamed Hurricane Harbor. A 14,000 square-foot expansion will include two new attractions: Bucket Blasters, a carousel-like attraction with rotating barrels that are equipped with water cannons, and Shipwreck Cove, a shallow activity pools with water sprays, geysers, and fountains.
"Hurricane Harbor will have a completely different look and feel including imaginative, new theming and a myriad of park enhancements designed to delight guests of all ages,” Six Flags Great Escape Resort President Eric Gilbert told the Times Union.
Six Flags has been bullish on waterparks lately, having recently gained the lease rights on five properties. all of which will eventually be converted to the Hurricane Harbor brand.
