The Rockford Park District agreed to lease the Magic Waters Waterpark to Six Flags in October of 2018, and today the attraction officially became "Six Flags Magic Waters."
The lease agreement lasts for 10 years.
Magic Waters had been a financial drain on the Park District in recent years, due to maintainence costs and declining attendance.
A formal "key exchange" ceremony will be held later this month.
