Activenture
Activenture, a massive waterpark and retail destination under construction in Australia, announced plans to include a camping site.
But not just any kind of camping.
To fit within the Activenture brand, which proposes to be an active lifestyle center with themepark and waterpark elements, the camp site will include luxury tents, a tennis court, gym, kids club, play area, swimming pool and slides.
The developer, Sanad Capital, said Activenture is responding to the growing popularity of glamping -- a type of camping that's far from the idea of roughing it. The developer says many people would prefer staying the night in a tricked-out tent over a hotel, according to the Central Telegraph.
The waterpark, designed by Whitewater, is expected to introduce attractions never before seen in the industry. Illustrations show people pedaling bicycles suspended from rails. Zip lines, rope course, surf park and a skate park are also part of the mix.
