Xishuangbanna International Resort Opens in China

1 MIN READ

Xishuangbanna International Resort in Jinghong City, China, celebrated its grand opening September 26. The first park constructed by Dalian Wanda Group of China, it features an assortment of waterslides by WhiteWater West, as well as a highly themed interactive play structure. It is the first of many facilities Wanda and WhiteWater are currently developing together.

Stretching across six square kilometers of land, the site boasts seven separate areas, including a theme park, golf course, 5-star hotel, theater, commercial center, hospital and a new tourism center.

The park invites guests to celebrate the Dai culture with its lush large green spaces and floral accents. A tropical jungle theme is woven into each waterpark element, creating a garden of bright flower-like waterslides. The fiberglass is colored with bright yellows, pinks and blues and is supported by vibrant green steel that emulates a flower’s stalk.

The centerpiece of the park is a WhiteWater AquaPlay Giant RainFortress, which features a 740 gallon tipping bucket adorned with a painted basket full of pansies, while the structural posts are topped with lotus flowers, hollyhocks and sunflowers.
