A St. Louis-based maker of water chemistry controllers has entered a new industry with the acquisition of a manufacturer of broadband equipment for the cable industry.
BECS Technology has purchased Mainline Equipment and will do business as Mainline by BECS.
This deal expands the BECS family of markets, which already includes aquatics, refrigeration and agricultural divisions.
"BECS already has the manufacturing infrastructure to produce the entire line of Mainline products and a substantial engineering department that will bring new technology to the broadband market in the future," said Mark Lipp, former owner of Mainline, who now will serve as the vice president of sales for the newly formed Broadband Products division.
BECS also has made additional hires during this transition. Stuart Schneiner has joined the firm as eastern sales manager. Barry Schlesinger has been hired as western sales manager. And Greg Duenas joins the team as broadband application specialist.
