The National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA) has named Alissa Magrum as its executive director. She had held that position on an interim level since September, when NDPA lost a substantial grant, leading to the departure of long-time leader Adam Katchmarchi.
“Alissa demonstrated strong leadership, financial management skills and water safety expertise while also successfully navigating the NDPA through our annual National Water Safety Conference,” the association said.
It was also announced that part-time NDPA staffer Alison Petri will leave the organization to focus on Abbey’s Hope. For five years, she had been working for both groups.
