The safety standard for suction outlet covers is under review and the committee making changes is near completion.
The changes to the ASME-ANSI A112.19.8 standard come as manufacturers are trying to develop new products following a CPSC mandated recall and ASME prepares to hand off authority over the standard to the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals.
