The National Swimming Pool Foundation has awarded $12,000 in scholarships and $4,000 in fellowships for 2018.
The Foundation’s scholarship program supports active CPO Certification holders, NSPF instructors and their families in their pursuit of higher education. This year’s applicants were asked to create an effective learn-to-swim campaign with a $250,000 budget. The three recipients of a $2,000 scholarship are Amanda Bowden of Appalachian State University, Sydney Panetta of the University of Georgia, and Jada Pemberton of Emory University. Six others received grants of $1,000 each.
In addition, two fellowships were awarded. NSPF’s fellowships support graduate students and post-doctoral fellows whose focus is in aquatic research and safety. This year, Dr. Jodi Jensen of Hampton University and Michael Vakula of Utah State University each received a $2,000 grant.
