Significant renovations are taking place in at least two Great Wolf Lodges.
The Great Wolf Lodge Poconos Mountains, in Tannersville, Pa., is undergoing its a $12 renovation – the largest since its opening in 2005. In addition to remodeling the 400 guest rooms rooms, management has added a new children’s interactive area at the waterpark’s entrance, called Oliver’s Mining Company, which contains a mirror maze, an attraction where children can pan for gemstones, and the Illumination Station, which features light-up toys. A candy store and Dunkin Donuts have also been added. The property will retain its North Woods theme.
Likewise, the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas, has undergone an $11 million renovation, primarily to its 605 rooms, lobby and restaurants. This constitutes the most extensive remodeling since the property’s opening in 2009. Managers told the local press that it is negotiating an agreement with Build-A-Bear, the retail outlet where customers can custom-make their own teddy bear or other stuffed animal on-site.
