Waterpark Watch: 2014 at a Glance

For the last several years, Jeff Coy of JLC Hospitality Consulting has put together comprehensive waterpark construction report. And 2014 was no exception. Last year, the industry experienced a 7.5 percent increase in activity over 2013, with 19 hotel waterpark projects opening.

Both major names and independent firms upgraded or opened in 2014, with companies including Lego and Schlitterbahn making the list. Even two cruise ships are represented. While California saw only one project opening last year, the Midwest saw the most activity.
