
As summer kicks off, many waterparks are introducing attractions.
Schlitterbahn will reveal a $5 million expansion at its Kansas City location and a large park enhancement in New Braunfels, Texas.
Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark (Tannersville, Pa.) will unveil two family raft water slides, and Bingemans Big Splash (Ontario, Canada) has built five new slides.
Calypso Waterpark (Ottawa) has added 10 slides, including North America’s “tallest free-standing water slide,” while Ocean Breeze waterpark (Va.) announced a multimillion-dollar improvement/ expansion plan with a new slide complex and a renovated children’s area.
Other destinations boasting more slides in 2011: Wet‘n’Wild Phoenix, NRH20 Family Waterpark (Texas), Evergreen Resort (Oregon) and Boulder Beach waterpark (Idaho). Nashville Shores will open the four-story attraction "Kowabunga Beach." KeyLime Cove (Gurnee, Ill.), has opened the Enchanted Lagoon Kids Spa, and Holiday World (Santa Claus, Ind.) added a new kid's ride and water-play area.
Internationally, Wild Wadi Water Park (Dubai), Bali Paradise (China) and Ocean World (Korea) will debut new attractions.
