In September, Aquatica Orlando caused quite a buzz when it announced via social media outlets that it was constructing "#nothingtaller" — in Orlando.

But Braunfels, Texas-based Schlitterbahn Waterparks & Resorts may have one-upped Seaworld's waterpark last month when it revealed it was building what many media outlets are reporting is the world's tallest waterslide.

Titled Verrückt, (German for "insane"), the slide is is under construction at Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark and is set to open May 23.

Even without the use of a special hashtag dedicated to the campaign, the announcement had just about everyone from thrill seekers and skeptics to industry watchers weighing in on Twitter. Here's but a small sampling of the announcements and reactions.
