The World Waterpark Association’s 38th annual trade show and symposium in Las Vegas concluded in October, breaking several records.
The number of people who took in educational sessions increased by close to 30% and attendance in workshops and certifications nearly double, the trade group reported. The show also secured record support from sponsors.
The show attracted more than 1,600 owners, operators, developers, suppliers and designers from 25 countries and five continents. About 350 were first-time attendees. More than 350 booths representing 225 companies comprised 100,000 square feet of combined exhibit space.
“This year’s show was a great success on every level,” Rick Root, WWA president, stated in a press release. “Nothing excites our attendee base quite like Vegas, but it’s obvious that the depth of our educational programs and the quality of our product marketplace brought out many new attendees who then met and mingled with our show veterans in meaningful ways.”
The World Waterpark Association’s show is going to Walt Disney World Resort with next year’s show taking place Oct. 7-10, 2019.
A staple of the event is the annual awards showcase and Hall of Fame. For a complete list of this year's winners, click here.
