SwimToday is an industrywide campaign that aims to encourage more children to take up swimming, and to boost health and happiness. Indeed its tagline is “Swimming is the funnest sport there is.” It launched two years ago, and 12 industry partners have united behind this common goal, including the National Swimming Pool Foundation and USA Swimming.

SwimToday serves an additional purpose: Families visiting the campaign’s website looking for an aquatics facility with USA Swimming clubs and Make a Splash programs can find a listing of pools that have NSPF Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification holders on staff.

“Let’s provide parents searching for a swim club for their child the chance to find healthier and safer facilities,” said Thomas Lachocki, Ph.D., CEO of NSPF. “In order to be listed as a certified facility on swimtoday.org, the facility must have at least four employees on staff who have passed the required course and obtained a CPO Certification. NSPF feels as though four is the appropriate number that should ensure a facility will have a certification holder on site for proper pool care or problems.”

To sign up to be listed as one of the “CPO Certification” facilities, or to learn more, facility owners can visit nspf.org/swim-today. If a facility needs to enroll employees in a CPO Certification course to obtain the desired four, they can find a course at this website.
