Airhead Sports Group announced the appointment of Leland Nichols as the company’s new president and CEO.
Nichols succeeds Mike Noell who will remain with the Denver-based company as an active board member.
Nichols most recently served as the senior vice present and general manager for the firearms and accessories division at the Remington Outdoor Co. Prior to that he led the Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. as president and chief operating officer.
Airhead Sports Group is a distributor and supplier of Airhead, Sportsstuff and Yukon-branded products such as towable tubes, life jackets, pool floats and loungers, marine accessories.
In 2017, the company was acquired by Falconhead Capital, LLC, led by CEO, David Moross. Falconhead is a middle market private equity firm that specifically seeks out sports, leisure and lifestyle focused ventures. Another partner is Virginia-based M3 Outdoor Investments.
