Aquatic Development Group (ADG), designer and builder of water parks and attractions, announced the promotion of Jim Dunn from executive vice president to president of the Cohoes, N.Y.-based company.

Former president and CEO, Ken Ellis, will retain the role of CEO.

Dunn, a registered architect with over 30 years of experience specializing in aquatics, joined ADG in 1988 and began his career in the design department. His portfolio includes many well-known water parks and resorts throughout the country – some of which have won prestigious industry awards, including World Waterpark Association’s (WWA) Leading Edge Award and IAPPA’s Brass Ring Award.

“His passion and enthusiasm for creating innovative products and solutions to enhance our client’s business has resulted in some of the most ground breaking water ride attractions and park designs ever seen in the industry,” said Ellis.

The son of a pool builder, Dunn’s connection to the industry goes deeper than design. He was also named one of Aquatics International’s Power 25 in 2011 for his involvement in the Model Aquatic Health Code project.
