California Releases Drowning Report Draft

Learn more about the Golden State's first report on its Drowning Prevention Pilot Program.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is releasing a review draft of its first report on its Drowning Prevention Pilot Program. The program was mandated in 2022 with the passage of SB 855, written and passed to fill the void of drowning statistics in the Golden State. The CDPH is collecting data from up to 10 counties for the pilot program. The draft report reviews the state of drowning data in the state with a focus on the ten pilot counties.
