Athletes with USA Diving have found a competitive edge.

Thanks to some high-tech training tools they are using at the Air Force Academy swimming pool in Colorado Springs, the divers are able to review in a new way their performances and make the necessary adjustments to improve their scores.

According to a report on WKYC.com, the teaching tools tap into the security cameras then runs the video feed through a delayed playback, allowing the athlete to complete a dive and then review it afterward.

Coach Gabi Chereches takes it a step further by filming divers with the app called "Coach's Eye," which allows users to break down a dive frame-by-frame.

"You can stop and rewind anywhere you want to, so you can come back and see where the mistakes are, or where you need to make adjustments," Chereches told the news agency.

The technology is especially effective for the synchronized divers, she adds.
