The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission will kick-off the second year of its national pool and spa public safety campaign, Pool Safely: Simple Steps Save Lives next week.

On May 26, CPSC will hold a press conference in Chula Vista, Calif., highlighting activities of the Pool Safely campaign and offering life-saving water safety tips. Officials will also release CPSC’s annual submersion and entrapment report.

The event will tale place at Parkway Family Aquatic Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Inez M. Tenenbaum, chairman of the CPSC; Tony Young, San Diego City Council president; and Olympic swimmer Janet Evans, a parent herself, will highlight efforts as part the Pool Safely campaign and provide information on the simple steps everyone can take to help save a life this summer.
