In an unlikely partnership, Pollo Tropical, a Miami-based Caribbean-inspired restaurant chain, and the USA Swimming Foundation have joined forces for the month of October to promote water safety for kids.
“As a company that was founded in Miami and has its roots in tropical culture, we know how important the lifesaving skill of swimming is,” said Danny Meisenheimer, Fiesta Interim CEO.
For its second consecutive year, the restaurant will sell a $1 Treat Book at all locations as a fundraiser for the USA Swimming Foundation. The book, themed for Halloween, contains coupons for future food and drink savings that can be redeemed at Pollo Tropicals throughout November.
Customers can purchase Treat Books from October 1-31 while supplies last. At the end of the fundraiser, the company says 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the USA Swimming Foundation's Make a Splash initiative -- a nationwide program aimed at providing swimming lessons to children.
Pollo Tropical, which was founded in Florida, also participates in Make a Splash local partner events throughout the year.
