In a move that expands its commercial aquatics operations, S.R. Smith has acquired All Fibreglass Products, an Australian manufacturer of pool bulkheads and swim walls.
The deal included AFP’s assets and intellectual property. SRS Australia Pty. Ltd., a subsidiary of S.R. Smith, will operate the business.
“We are excited about this acquisition as it adds value to the AntiWave Australia recreational and competitive pool product business we acquired in 2013 by expanding our commercial product offerings,” said Rich Laitta, S.R. Smith’s CEO/president, in a statement. “It is also in line with our global product platform direction and allows us to offer these products outside of Australia.”
The general manager of Ipswich, Queensland-based SRS Australia pointed out the value of the AFP products.“Bulkheads and swim walls are an effective means of increasing pool use by optimizing the total pool area," Keith Hall said. "They can be installed in new and existing pools, providing aquatic facility operators with significant revenue expansion opportunities by providing multiple operational zones within a single commercial pool.”
AFP is located in Caboolture, Queensland, approximately 27 miles from Brisbane. The family-owned and operated business was established in 1984.
S.R. Smith, LLC, is based in Canby, Ore., and manufactures commercial and residential pool deck equipment, ADA pool lifts, pool lighting, slides, ladders, rails and more.
