Disney’s Blizzard Beach waterpark combines the classic adventure of a ski mountain winter wonderland with a tropical waterpark. The most eye-catching attractions at this family-friendly waterpark are located on the slopes of Mt. Gushmore, a 90-foot, “snow-capped” peak. As guests enter the park, they are greeted with a view of “skiers” sliding down the face of the mountain. Mt. Gushmore features the Downhill Double Dipper, the only side-by-side racing water slides; aquatic slalom courses; toboggan and water sled runs and the 120-foot-high Summit Plummet, considered the nation’s tallest, fastest, free-fall speed slide. Summit Plummet is visible from almost everywhere in the park.
Other attractions include Slush Gusher, a speed slide that drops guests through a “snow-banked” mountain gully. Other signature attractions are the Teamboat Springs family raft ride and the Downhill Double Dipper racing water slides. The sandy beach area below Mt. Gushmore offers a large wave pool, a lazy river, two snack bars and separate activity pools for tweens and toddlers.
