It's been nearly 30 years since a new waterpark has set up shop in France. And the folks behind Splashworld in Provence have pulled out all the stops to make the debut an impressive one. In addition to featuring Europe's tallest free-fall slide, the tropical-themed park also is home to the region's largest racing slide, longest toboggan slide and longest leisure river. And it couldn't have been possible without the help of the waterslide supplier Polin Waterparks, according to Frederic Bouvard, founder and CEO of Splashworld.

"Polin Waterparks has proven itself to be not only a professional supplier but also a reliable partner," he said in a press release. "Their dedication is second to none."

The first phase of Splashworld, which spreads out over 45,000 square meters, opened in late August. Upon arrival, guests are treated to a variety of "custom" water slides, including the 33-meter (108-foot-high) free-fall slide, The Huricana Sliiide; the Banzaii Bomber, an 18-meter-high (59-foot-high) "rocket launch" free-fall slide; the Aloha Racer, Polin's 17-meter-high, eight-lane, head-first mat racer, which is touted as the largest racing slide in Europe; the water coasters Kina Kuntaa Chutes and Splash Breaker;  and the speed-rafting slide the Twisty Turvy.

Additionally, the park features Adventure Island, a giant multilevel play structure with countless water gadgets and slides that are suitable for children up to 14 years of age. Younger patrons also can enjoy Kay-Ki Cover, a 15-centimeter-deep toddler pool that features gentle water jets and soft foam sculptures.

The park's offerings are rounded out by private beaches with lockers, a retail store, three food outlets, a cashless payment system and the Splash Pass. At the center of it all is a 10-hectare (24.7-acre) lake, where guests can swim, canoe, ride a pedal boat, fish, bird watch, jog and walk the fitness trail.
