Piscine Global Europe, the four-day swimming pool and wellness expo held in Lyon, France, begins its biennial event Nov. 13.
The event will be housed at Eurexpo, an exhibition center located just outside of Lyon, France. Show hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, with the exception of Thursday, Nov. 15, which will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
The show is unique in that it encompasses four distinct areas of focus in the pool market: residential, commercial, outdoor and wellness. While the show has previously included wellness, which comprises hot tubs, saunas, hamam and fitness equipment, this year's new Wellness Expo area will allow attendees to discover and test products specific to this category. Free massages and aromatherapy are sure to be an added draw.
On the show floor
Attendees and exhibitors alike can expect an event chock full of takeaways. For one, the show floor will feature close to 600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, giving attendees ample opportunity to learn about exhibitors' product offerings. In addition, portions of the exhibition hall will be earmarked for public demonstrations. Aquafitness will showcase fitness and wellness products in the water, and Water Tests will give attendees a chance to see how products perform under real-life pool conditions.
Show contests
Two competitions take place during Piscine Global Europe. The Pool Innovations Promenade will tout state-of-the-art products in six different categories: construction pool, pool clean, pool safety, smart pool, wellness and outdoor. The products will be judged and first-place winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5-6 p.m. on the Terrace Stage.
The Pool Design Awards highlight creativity and technical prowess, whether it’s through construction and engineering to water treatment and aesthetic features, and is open to all pool designers worldwide. The five winning categories are: most beautiful residential pool, most beautiful pool for tourism and leisure, most beautiful public pool, most beautiful renovated pool, and most innovative pool. Winners will be honored on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 4-5 p.m at La Scene.
Education
Seminar and conferences are a big draw for attendees. At this year's event, Piscine Global Europe has tapped industry experts to lead current relevant topics, such as renovation/pool staging, development of the spa market, and consumer expectations (design, wellness, artificial intelligence, constructions, services, customer relations, etc.).
A complete conference schedule can be found here.
In addition to the conferences, the show's Pool Academy concentrates on helping pool retailers grow their businesses through a series of workshops. Some of them include: How to adopt an effective business strategy to increase your sales? On Thursday, Nov. 15, the show will be open until 9 p.m. to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day, the national holiday marking the first wine of the season. Be at Halls 4, 5 and 6 for games, tastings, fanfare, and buffets!
